Public Forum: America’s Response to Global Poverty

When: Saturday Feb. 2nd 6pm to 8pm

Where: Downstairs of Town Hall - 8th Ave and Seneca Street, Seattle

What: World leaders met in September 2000 to address extreme poverty and related problems that hinder human well-being and are sources of global instability. They adopted an ambitious set of goals and established 2015 as the deadline to achieve them.  The panel will discuss U.S. participation in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), progress at the half-way point, and additional efforts that are needed from Americans and their government.  Suggested Donation: $5

Samuel Worthington, President of InterAction, Coalition of U.S.-based international NGOs focused on global poverty
Craig Nakagawa, President of VillageReach, Seattle-based NGO providing healthcare in developing countries
Moderator: Dave Ross, KIRO Radio
