Architects Without Borders-Seattle and Architecture for Humanity-Seattle are hosting a chicken coop design competition to benefit Seattle Youth Garden Works, an innovative employment program of Seattle Tilth for diverse young people ages 16-21 to be trained in urban agriculture. The competition will be hosted at the new Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands in one of the most diverse zip codes in the nation. The judged event will take place on Saturday, July 14, the day of Seattle Tilth’s Chicken Coop and Urban Farm Tour.
AWB/AfH seek additional Steering Committee Members as well as marketing and day-of-event volunteers.
Steering Committee Members will help to further shape the event and need to be able to commit to attend weekly meetings and complete various tasks between meetings. This is a great opportunity for leadership and working beside passionate peers.
Marketing and Day-of-Event volunteers will help to make the event a success in the lead up and execution of the event. Time commitments will range between 4-10 hours of work either doing outreach or day-of (or week prior to) event staffing. These roles are less intensive of a commitment, but a really fun way to get your hands in things!
Please indicate which opportunity you are interested in. Steering Committee Meetings have already begun and we’d love a few additional passionate members
