Disaster Preparedness and Response Information Night

AIA Seattle Disaster Preparedness & Response Committee, along with the local chapter of Architecture For Humanity (AfH) and Architects Without Borders-Seattle (AWB) are hosting an evening event for the architectural community to raise awareness of the hazards of the Pacific Northwest, and opportunities for individuals to get involved with local efforts.

Representatives from AIA-Seattle and Structural Engineers Association of Washington (SEAW) will share details on recent response efforts, including Hurricane Katrina, tsunami in Japan, earthquake in Haiti, and flooding in Southwest Washington. Organizations will all share progress on current efforts toward collaboration, as well as plans for mitigation, response, and recovery.

Details will also be provided on upcoming sessions of ATC 20-21 Post-Earthquake Safety Evaluation of Buildings and registration with the WABO Building Safety Emergency Responder Program for ATC-trained volunteers.

Where: GGLO – Space at the Steps, 1301 1st Ave, enter off Harbor Steps, for those with different abilites, please enter the elevator and proceed to suite 301 for assistance.
