ABOUT THIS PROJECT

AWBS, in partnership with Mutuus Studio, successfully refurnished the office spaces and nursery of RISE´s installations to better serve families and children who have been impacted by gun violence.

Resilient in Sustaining Empowerment (RISE) supports the mental health and well-being of King County BIPOC families who have been impacted by gun violence. RISE recently moved into a new office space in the Navos Mental Health and Wellness Center in Burien. AWBS is assessing opportunities for the existing space to better provide a welcoming and effective environment for the surviving young women, children, and families in RISE’s cohort, while fostering healing opportunities within small group settings. The team is pursuing new furniture and furnishing possibilities including procurement/vendor options for the project, warmer lighting/colors/finishes, and art installation by BIPOC artists.

This project was possible thanks to the furniture donations of: IKEA USA, Kayser Wesner, and MR. Studio.
